I Am Looking To Purchase A Boat With A 2000 Mercury 90 Hp. The Seller Says Something Is Wrong With Motor. He Bought Boat Last Year And On The First Outing The Motor Stopped While At High Speed, It Would Not Restart Just Cranks, He Got Towed In And The Yard That He Had The Boat At Says He Has Water In Fuel. Rather Than Look Into Fixing It He Is Selling The Boat, Motor And Trailer. I Checked It Out Today And Got 80 Psi From Bottom Spark Plug Hole, 35 Psi From Middle And 90 From Top. Anyone Have Any Ideas?? He Said He Got The Motor To Fire With Starting Fluid. I Shined Light Into Hole With 35 Psi And Couldn't See Any Hole On Piston (although I Couldn't See Whole Piston Top) By The Way The Boat Is A 1991 Sea Pro 17 Foot Center Console, Trailer Is Karavan And Motor Is 2000 Merc 90. He Wants 2500. What Should I Do Next??

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

Compression on each cylinder should be in or above 100 and no more than 10% of each other. Unless you want a project Keep shopping.
