Hello, newbie here. Tried this on another category, but couldnt get anywhere.

Ive done a couple of days reading posts, but cant find anything that is exactly like what I have so I thought I'd give a quick synopsis for the experts.

2005 Trophy Pro 2352 with a 5.0 mercruiser i/o.

Took it about 20 miles offshore 2 wknds ago with no problems.

Took it about for Labor Day and went about 10 miles and shifted into neutral and the motor died. Was able to start it right up and then the audible alarm started sounding. It died a few more times and was unable to go more than 10 ft without it dying again. Alarm was sounding every couple of minutes.

I was able to make it to a sandbar where it sat a couple of hours. On the way back, it started up fine but alarm was still sounding. Alarm sounded every couple of minutes the entire ride back. All gauges read fine. Temp. read about 190.

Any Ideas? Thanks again...

Re: help...

I checked the oil as soon as I got stopped and it was fine. I dont think the temp gauge was higher than normal, but I dont think I look at it all the time either.

Re: help...

Just letting everyone know that my problem was a bad idle air control sensor.

All is good...
