Re: Henry Hudson Park, Bethlehem, NY

Yes, it's a great launch. I actually live in Bethlehem. Decent parking and safer than the Albany launch. Next one south on the same road is Coeymans with very ample parking too. During May because of Striper fishing all the launches are busy but it dies right off in a few weeks. A few miles down from the Coeymans launch is Athens and then few miles after that is Catskills which is the largest in the area. 4 boat lanes and probably parking for 100 cars. If Bethlehem is ever that busy just keep going South and try the next launch down. I think they are all NY State launches. And you are spot on about those floating Albany docks. They are awful. All the others I mentioned have new aluminum docks. Those Albany docks have tie on's they are just hard to see as they are built into the side. How could you launch your rig, swing it over to the docks and then park your car if the docks had no place to tie on?

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'll give it a try. Heading up that way Tuesday, unless the t'storms keep me off the water

Anyone familiar with the Hudson river launch/docks and parking at Henry Hudson Park, Bethlehem, NY. http://www.townofbethlehem.org/pages/parkHH/parkHenryHudsonBoatFish.asp
I've used the ramp in Albany, off of Colonie, but the parking is tough, and the floating docks are awkward, with no way to tie up.

Thanks, Gary..

Schodack Landing Park on Rt. 9J also has a really nice wide launch with secure parking. Almost directly across the river from Henry Hudson park.

Thanks, just checked their website, looks like a good alternative. I think the Henry Hudson park will work out better for me, as I need to jump on 87 in the afternoon, to run up to Troy. But I see Schodack is just south of Henry Hudson, I think I'll run down in the boat to check it out.

Appreciate the info,
Gary
