Data: 2001 40hp ML, changed spark plugs. Same problem<br /><br />Just put(bought through Iboat) the new used Merc on the boat. Started up and runs smoothly.<br />Shifted into gear and idled away warming up the thing.<br />Then wanted to have the boat in plane. The motor hesitates on pushing for more power, but then cuts out when getting into plane.<br /><br />Sum up of behaviour:<br />Sometimes hesitation on acceleration, sometimes not.<br />Always cuts out when pressing for power fast, but not at lowest power, but when reaching approx plane speed.<br /><br />Manages to reach max speed if fed power with a feathers touch. <br /><br />Always dies immediately when backing off the power abruptly.<br /><br />It simply needs a feathers touch on power control.<br /><br />Slight problem starting after the its cuts out.<br /><br />Any ideas?
