Young couple that I know bought a used mobile home. They had it set up and wanted me to charge their A/C (R22) with freon. So I went over today and this darn thing got different "Gage Ports" than iv ever seen before. It did have one port on the high side that would connect to my gages so I dumped all the liquid freon I could with it not running. I know its not enough but its better than what they had. What I need to know is; If you know what kind of adapter I need to fit my gages. Its not R134.. But its about the same size as we are used to for regular gages. But the threads on the "hookup" are internal and not external. I want to help this young couple cause the baby is due in less than two weeks. Thanks.... Trent

Hi Trent, are your hoses set up for automotive type fittings? If so, they are different. Residential and commercial use standard 1/4" schrader fittings. These would be the same fittings like your charging manifold/guages have. You should be able to pick up a set of hoses and put them on your guages. Do you have a temp/pressure chart to go by when charging? It is very helpful on hot days to make sure you don't over/undercharge. Hopefully this is the info you needed.

Got back late last night from my weekend stay onboard. I'll check the board later this evening if you have anymore questions.....SS

My R22 gages do have 1/4 schrader fittings. But this split unit does not have them. Yes I do have a pressure chart. I will try to look on the net for these different type schrader fittings. Thanks

Hey Ben, Thanks, What manufacture uses those? I haven't serviced any units using that type. I mostly service York, AAON, Trane, and John Zinc commercial units. Think I check at my supplier. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have that adapter alon with some of my other ones.

SS / Trent; never had the need to use it on comm./dom. a/c ,but many times on auto. I did not try an auto parts store for the adapter ,might wont to give it a try...

Ben... I have the adapter for the GM to 1/4 schrader. What your thinking of (I believe) is not what I need. Also have the adapter for the Ford also.... Still no joy in finding this adapter. Course Iv not looked today. But thanks for your input. If I get to go back to it before someone else, I will take a picture and post it. Thanks again.

Trent, do you know who the manufacture is of the unit? I asked my rep at Allied Supply and explained to him about the different service ports. He looked at me dumbfounded and asked me about the manufacture. ....SS
