High Pressure Fuel pump 00' 150hp OX-66

My high pressure fuel pump wouldnt come on when i turned on the key, i checked and have 12v to it when key is on, it had been sitting for 2 year and not been run. Is there any way to test this to see if it is still good? I hate to spend $600.00 if not needed !! Thanks for any help given.

buy some Mercury Power Tune or OMC (BRP) Engine Tuner and soak the pump(out of the VST of course)overnight...following day drain out pump and repeatedly "shock' it with 12 volt jolts...or-if you can find a shop that has an ultrasound carb cleaner see if they will soak it for ya'
