gi8.1 ticks over at 1500rpm. changed idle control valve and still the same any ideas.? no fault codes showing

Did they check the IAC per the manual on page 250 and 251? There is a wiring diagram for each item in the manual above. The IAC wiring is on page 250. The ECT wiring is found on 262, did they test the wiring? A high resistance would tell the ECM the engine is very cold and would cause a high idle. You could change the sender all day long and it won't fix the problem.the volvo engineers changed a few sensors but left with tick over still at 1500.
