I am going back and forth on this decision. I bought a 1975 trihull for $600, had a bum motor. Got a 1973 Evinrude 50 HP for $400. So I have about $1000 invested. The boat has a long crack in its hull since I got it, so I cut a whole in the floor and glassed the crack, although I didn't go to the very end. I suspect the stringer on that side is a bit rotten as well because there is a soft spot under the drivers seat, right over where the crack is/was. The rest of the floor feels pretty darn solid considering the age of the boat. The engine starts and runs fine, but the clutch dog is worn and it slips out of gear at high RPMs. I am going to have to drop the lower unit and either flip the clutch dog around or replace it completely. The boat itself is in very good shape, the interior is redone and the surface areas are clean and free of scuffs and marks. The upholstery is all very nice as well.

So, I am wondering if I should just sell the boat and recover my initial investment, or if I should fix the floor/crack/stringer as well as the clutch dog.

What type of $$$ am I looking at when it comes to replacing a floor and perhaps a couple of stringers? How much time does it typically take to do this?

Thanks for your opinions!
