Just wanted to see what you guys thought of these. Been doing a lot of reading on trailering my boat with the engine up. Most things I've read said don't use the factory tilt lock when going down the road. So I came up with these. I made them out of some very thick PVC electrical conduit. Then notched them so they actually snap onto the rams of those shock absorbers, then release the factory tilt lock and it drops about an inch before these catch the motor and hold it nicely in place. Then I just snug a strap over the lower unit to the trailer to keep it from bouncing up and down on them. This is my first boat and I've spent the past couple of weeks getting it ready for my first outing with it. Only trailered it once and that was from the PO's house. But the motor was down the whole time. it was a different motor on it and that one had power tilt and trim, but the block was trashed and I had to replace it. So unfortunately no more power tilt and trim:(

Your Foot looks real good! And if your outboard is less than 130HP you can put an "add on" tilt system on it from CMC. There are pros and cons to everything!

Thanks. Yeah its a 115HP Johnson. I've looked into the CMC, but it's just a bit pricey right now and not an absolute necessity. So on I go like this for a little while.
