Does anyone have any idea where you can buy a 15 hp Honda on the internet like the Nissan/Tohatsu?
THe reason I ask, I was at the Honda shop today and they want $2995.00 + 8.3% sales tax, which brings them in at $3250. That is quite a premium ($1000) for the motor.

I bought one of these i-boats pre-run (used) outboards and it came as advertised, nearly mint condition.
Something to consider.

(NOT that I'm putting a pitch in for them, but I am QUITE pleased with my Merc now).

You might check if they have one of those Honda's, could save you a ton of cash...

Honda dealers are not allowed to ship outboard engines. In fact, the only manufacturer that allows new, factory sealed engines to be shipped is Nissan/Tohatsu. They are confident that their engines will actually run out of the box :D

I absolutely love Honda products. However, I really get annoyed at the pricing of their product. There just aren't any deals with their stuff. (except maybe their cars) It's always at a premium compared to everyone else. I guess as long as people buy them at a premium, they'll continue to sell them at that rate.

Yes, buy a Tohasu, the small Hondas are very pricey. All the Hondas are very pricey.

I never understood why honda sold their cars for a reasonable amount but you will go poor if you buy one of their outboards.
