sure, why not, do you plan on giving any information as to what motor you're talking about, possibly a year for said motor, and maybe even a more definite indication of problems

Bad fuel pump? So fix it. Seriously, if the motor is dying after the carbs run dry, and you can keep it going by pumping the primer bulb, the pump probably is bad. OR there is a leak in the hose between the tank and pump.

Re: hoser 3

Ya sorry I this is a johnson 1993 88 spl I was having trouble getting it to run after three months of sitting. I took it out and ran fine and then failed me on the water. I waited for awhile and it fired and got me back to the landing. I figured it was time to rebuild the carbs. While pulling the carbs apart I found them to rather dirty. I did a complete rebuild on the carbs. They were dirty and plugged but they are good now. Now the next problem, After doing the carbs it ran fine for about 30 seconds and was very responsive. I believe the fuel pump has to be bad and the engine was only running on the gas in the carbs. What do you think?

It will not stay running with the primer bulb and at this point I cant even get it to run

Either an inlet needle sticking, float not adjusted right so no gas can enter carbs, or too much gas enters. Or you messed up the carb link n sink but it probably would still run just not well or idle to high! Take a squirt bottle of pre mix gas and squirt down all carbs throats while cranking to see if it fires, if it does you have found your problem a fuel delivery one, just have to track down is it the carbs lines or tank. If no fire you have an ignition problem and need to diagnose further.
If its getting gas the plugs will also be wet

Re: hoser 3

whe you cleaned the carb, did you use kits, replace the float needle and seats, adjust the float. remove and clean the low and high speed jets. requires a special tool. they can be made of the part # is 317002.

also when posting, please don't use your name, use part of your problem in the title, you will get help a lot quicker. thanks
