ktmracr,

Glad to hear your up and running again.
I was also very happy with my holeshot, as mine also feels much improved.
And yes, gap your plugs as advised by hotspark, as adding the gap to mine helped a bit.

Always glad to help.

Best regards,

As far as points.....If you statement is just in general, then point taken.
If you were saying I should have points..... My boat never had points, it had the Prestolite IBD system (electronic) from the factory.
I was referring to the OP who is replacing points. I had no idea what engine you were working on. Not sure you mentioned it.

As far as all these ESA mods that you guys are doing, I feel it is way better to buy the CDI ESA that is electronic ignition compatible. Also, for the OP, it is good upgrade anyway since that is an upgraded ESA that uses a timer and doesn't need the overstroke switch.

Thanks BruceB58,

I'll look into that CDI ESA as I'm interested. I don't like the Diode/Resistor mod overall, but I set mine up to be sealed for Marine safety. Trying to make sure it is sealed and spark proof.

I have several posts about my Prestolite IBD system failure and upgrade in other posts, so I may not have listed my setup on this thread. I figured you were making a general point anyway.

Thanks again,
