How did this Coupler Bend/Warp?

Recently replaced my Titan 60 Coupler with a brand new one using the two rear bolts to fasten to trailer frame. Towed a few times to local marina, 8 miles, 35mph max.

Today I notice the couple is bent to right just forward of the attachment bolts.
Any idea what caused this?

Could you have turned too sharply and made contact between the coupler and the tow vehicle?

Given where and how it bent, that is 100% it... Either it jackknifed while backing up, or someone turned too sharp going forward. Close inspection of the tow vehicle bumper will probably add to the story.

 Wow! That took some force. Jacknife, or backing with one locked brake?

Wow, you guys are amazing. Imprints in the bumper match exactly with the coupler. Now I have to figure out if it was myself making the sharp right turn out of the driveway on to the narrow street (most likely ). Or my wife as she was backing the trailer down the launch ramp as I was bringing the boat around from the slip. Either way it's my fault

Anyone in the market for bent coupler?

pretty sure that had nothing to do with it... if you jackknife a trailer things will bend. You just hope the least expensive parts bend first!
