And thats pretty common, if you can do most the work other then the welding your bill will be less, problem is that it gives you the urge to go a little bit further and next thing you know, you own four welders, three angle grinders, a couple chop saws etc etc LOLOL
prices are all dependent on the who/what/where. had a bit over an hour of aluminum welding done on my buddies pontoon for $50. usually the shops around here charge time and materials.
