prices are all dependent on the who/what/where. had a bit over an hour of aluminum welding done on my buddies pontoon for $50. usually the shops around here charge time and materials.

And thats pretty common, if you can do most the work other then the welding your bill will be less, problem is that it gives you the urge to go a little bit further and next thing you know, you own four welders, three angle grinders, a couple chop saws etc etc LOLOL

you forgot the plasma cutter, a weld table, 5 sets of helmets and gloves...........

all seriousness aside. check around, many welders out there that like filler jobs.
