How do I set the timing on my Chrysler 45???!!!!!!!!!???????

FOR A 1975 CHRYSLER 45 MODEL 454 BC:<br /><br />Alright, I just put in new coils and greased the plate and all that stuff. I don't have a fuel problem. That, I'm sure of. I've set the points and now the darn thing idles pretty good, a bit fast though. Anyway, I think that the timing is out. It dies when you try to give it some throtle and I'm pretty sure I want to adjust the timing anyway... I don't have a timing gun and I didn't see any timing marks. I know that the timing should be 28 degrees BTC static.<br />Question #1: How do I adjust the timing?<br />Question #2: How do I know how many degrees I'm at?<br />Question#3: Is top dead Centre on the top cyllinder or the bottom cyllinder or does it matter?<br />Question#4: Is there any other adjustments for the idling other than the adjustable arm that links that has screw out ends that fit on the round ball on the carb and the round ball on the vertical throtle post?<br /><br /> Any help about this would be great. I love the boat and motor but it's a real learning experience figuring out how it was designed, especially without a manual...<br /><br /> Cheers to any advice...

I was hoping someone else would jump on this post. I have never had to adjust the timing on my Chrysler 45. Answer to question 3 is TDC off the top cylinder. Question 4 no. there is no other idle adjustment then the linkgage you mentioned. I believe you want it just kissing the throttle butterfly linkage. The only other adjustment is the mixture adjustment on the front top of the carb. I hope someone else can help you with questions 1 and 2
