Ok now we don't need to be so critical. Fact is I thought of that joke very shortly afterwards of the incident

rwise knows my sense of humor and maybe a PM would have been a better approach for his reply.

The pain is pretty much gone. My wife took me to the family doc and had a look at it. Doc told my wife she had the right idea, but she left the hot end of the poker in my thumb too long cauterizing the area preventing the release of pressure. Some how I knew that
