I know this may sound really dumb, however I realy need to know if I am doing this right. When I go to start my johnson 25R73 it is hit or miss. I can crank on the rip cord once or twice and it will turn over and run, however sometimes it takes many cranks before it will turn over. The sequence of how I have been starting is this: First prime the fuel bulb. secound put the throtle on the start position. Then third pull the rip cord. Is this wrong? I was told by my friend I need to open the choke about half way then after it is started open the choke full is this true? what is a manual choke for? I have one but I have no clue as to it's function. Also I was wondering when the cam follower is in the position to open the throtle valve dose it also move the choke? is the choke ever moved automatic by the throtle linkage? or does it just move when you move it with the throtle contol?

thank you
Michael Moore
