How Fast, Speedo Selection?

So, I need to order my new speedometer to finish wiring up my instrument panel. Given my 22ft hull design (profile pic), 5.7L vortec (expect 300hp) and alpha one gen one drive train, what should I expect the top speed to be? It seems I have to decide between a speedo with either 35mph or 60mph top speed. Thanks.

It should do 50 easy. My 95 220 searay is not as strong as yours and it has reached 50. It has a 5.7 in it.

Why not go 100% nautical and get a speedo in knots? It's the international marine unit of speed, and all marine speed related signage is always in knots... Saves having to do conversions in your head while trying to navigate. (How many mph is 8 knots?)

I believe that I can show speed on either my Standard Horizon GX2400GPS or on my Garmin Echomap 73sv UHD in knots as well as distance in nautical miles. Just got to get through the 100's of manual pages as they aren't installed yet. I will use the speedo for general use but read the speed in knots on the other equipment when in speed zones.

Mine is a 19ft / Mercruiser 5.7 / 260 HP / Alpha One Gen 1 and has an 80mph speedo in it. I'd go with a 60 or 80 for your boat.

Nope. Searay is a Brunswick brand, which also own.... Mercury Marine...

That is a very standard 'Flagship' series speedometer. This is the Mercury version... Look familiar?
