Finally, someone at least came close to giving the OP the right advice. The ONLY thing to do is tell the Admiral that you have NO choice but to take the boat out, otherwise you'll ruin it and she wouldn't want that. Make sure you sound frustrated and sigh a lot and if all goes the way it should, she'll feel sorry for you and make dinner for when you return. However, and this is IMPORTANT, DO NOT let her see you put the fishing tackle in the boat. Stick rods & boxes in the truck, otherwise the plan may fall apart.

Our lakes are getting plenty shallow.Thanks for all the advice i think i'll put some stabil in it today and let it run for a few minutes.

My boat probably sits at most 3 months without running. I don't worry about anything going wrong during that time, but if it's been more than a couple of weeks since it's ran I will run it on muffs before going to the ramp just to make sure it will still run like it's supposed to so I'm not sitting there trying to start it on the ramp.
