about 40 minutes to Lake Washington...
probably about 1 hour to Puget Sound.. but, I don't trust my boat enough yet for that...

ok, wont rub it in.
how often?
well I purchased the F150 new in 07, it now has about 122 hours on it.
but I can and do take the boat to work :).
takes about 40 min from my dock to the dock at work.
takes about 40 min to drive it.
3 gallons of gas a day by truck and 6 gallons by water for the round trip.

Im about 20 mins from Lake George but never boat there. Usually put on in the Hudson or some smaller lakes in the area but I never travel more than 30 mins to go boating. I try to get out on the water every weekend and sometimes after work weekdays. Im beached at the moment with a broken drive:(

Re: How long do you travel to reach water?

I should have added another question. How often do you go boating?

Already answered the how far part, now for the how often....I have only missed 2 weekends since buying the boat in August 2009. Saturdays with the admiral, Sundays I go solo. And, from time to time, take an afternoon off during the week and go solo. I'd go every day if I could!

About 15 miles to our families camp where the boat is stored.

We've only had the boat since the end of last skiing season, but we go at least once a week. That's when the water is warm enough for skiing.

We've been 5 times (there about?) so far this year. Most are short trips after school.

P.S. Those who travel 30 feet from their patio to the lake with beer in the hand do not count. Do not rub it in:D!

48 Feet from the last step of my patio to the seawall of the canal , I measured today to be sure I was OK to post . :D

I go out a couple of times a month, its 30 miles to where I store the boat (darn HOA's), and from there another 20-25 to the closest ramp. If I have the boat at home, its about 35 miles to the ramp

About 30ft from my deck to my boat. I'm out every day possible, regardless of weather. I'll stop rubbing that in now...

I do travel anywhere from 1hr to several hrs to race sailboats.

Re: How long do you travel to reach water?

i am 12 miles from the launch, but really only about 6 miles from the lake. from the time we decide to go to the lake, its usually 35-45 min until we are on the water.

About 30 minutes to one of about 4 ramps we use, on different parts of the river.
We go out at least three times a week during the summer. Bought the current boat last September and have put 70 hrs on her.

40 mins from my house to the lake, but once I'm there (and I am almost every weekend) it's 2-3 mins walk from my place to my slip.

Re: How long do you travel to reach water?

Northern Saskatchewan has about 100,000 lakes, most not accessible by road. The nearest easily accessible lakes (Christopher and Emma Lakes) are five to ten minutes away. They have thousands of cottages and various church camps and campgrounds, and the fishing isn't much.

For good fishing, we drive about twenty minutes to Prince Albert National Park. Depending on which lake one goes to, one can catch lake trout or pickerel, also known as walleye. All the lakes have lots of northern pike.

For the best fishing, we take a small boat and portage into some of the remote lakes. This time of year, the lake trout are near the surface and easily caught by trolling or casting. Once the water warms up in July, the trout go deep and become hard to catch.

Normally, out the back door to the West side of the house, uncover boat, put in plug, raise outdrive, start truck, back up 5 to 6 feet, hook trailer, back up 50 feet to ramp in back yard put boat in water tie to dock, pull truck back in yard. Do not get out enough lately. I have pulled boat to other places, 20 to 45 min away to different river/creek, 3 to 7 hours to other states, Lake Murray SC, PCB Fl, Crystal River Fl, Lake Griffin Fl and a few others.

Less than 1/2 mile to the community ramp & marina. Launch on the east side of Kent Island in the Chesapeake.
