How long is winter for the term "winterizing"?

I use my boat 40 HP OB from March to Mid January(duck hunting is over). I have only fogged the engine once when I knew that I might not use it for a while. It looks like I probably won't use it for about a month and a half. I have put Stabil in the fuel and drained the water by lowering and raising. I put the charger on the battery every few weeks but don't disconnect the connections. Is there something else you think I should be doing? Once a year, before spring use, I change the lower unit oil and plugs. 4 years doing this has worked OK but am I tempting fate?

One thing that is really good to do is to make sure you drain any water out of your lower unit before it freezes outside. Here is a link to an article on winterization:

http://www.boatmotors.com/winterization/

Like Bayman sez...rest that you're doing is just fine, but drain the lower just before you put it down for the end of season
