Re: How many cats is too many?
During my past marriage, my ex had parakeets, cockatills, hamsters, guiena pigs, cats, dogs, turtles, and fish tanks.

Our house at the time was only 30 x 25 with a basement. Plus having two small children, there wasn't much room in this house. Eventually she moved on, took the pets and left the kids. It took 3 months of heavy cleaning and replacement of furniture, carpet, and clothes to get the stench out.

One incident use to give me a nightmare that I had several times over. During the remodel of the bathroom, a couple of hamsters had got out. They ended up going behind the new tub before I had a chance to put the front skirting on and got into the walls. At night you could hear them munching on the insulation and wall studs.

The dang on rodents were to good to eat poison and continued to eat a multiply. I did finally find a place to put the decon and they did ingest it.

My nightmare was about replacing the clapboard on the outside of the house to replace with vinyl siding. In the dream I was removing the clapboard when suddenly thousands of hamsters come falling out of the walls.

It was a vision like you would see in a thriller movie. When I did finally actually remove the old siding, there was the evidence of the pests in the walls. They had tunnels on two sides of the house. I said from that day on that there would never be anymore inside pets!

Now I am remarried, new house and property with plenty of room for the outside dog to play. Everything was fine until last winter when someone gave our dog Bear anti-freeze

So now our new puppy (Keeper, which was named by Evin300 an iboats member) is an inside dog. He has a cage that he stays in every night, given plenty of chews. Did alot of reading and listening to iboats members on inside training. It has worked out well. I couldn't ask for a better dog. With proper training you can have an iside pet without worring about distruction to your house.

I wish to thank those members that helped me through the tough time I had last winter on the lose of my dog Bear. Thanks.........SSM
