How many hp are recommended for a Liberty 440?
Length 4,40 m
Width 1,75 m
Wight 275 kg



I use it to go around in the weekends, not too far. I don't need high speeds, just to move the boat kindly with 5, 6 people on board.

Could you give me a range, i.e. between 10 and 15hp?
On the website they say no more than 15hp: Liberty 440

For 5-6 passengers go for the 15 HP. 10 and 15 are usually same block being the 10 a restricted engine. If 2 strokes are still available, much lighter portability. It's strange that for that size and weight boat only recommends max 15 when should have at least a 25-30 HP engine.

Do they maybe suggest max 10, in order to keep the boat flat? It is probably because it is intended for slow sailing?
