how many motors is too many?

kids and i were trying to calculate how many motors i have been through in the past four years. i have gone through about 18 motors. is this excessive?
john/evin: 54 3hp, 58 3hp, 72 4hp, 76 4hp, 72 6hp, 74 6hp seahorse, 65 5.5hp, 83 15hp, 88 15hp (current)
merc: 96 15hp, 74 7.5, 69 7.5 long shaft, 72 40hp, 87 4.5, 89 classic 50/45hp.
force: 86 50hp, 78 chrysler 45hp
86 honda 9.9

no i didnt have them all at the same time, all but two were runners, as two were bought for parts only. i now own only the 45 hp merc, 74 7.5 and the 88 evin 15hp.

am i alone?

As many as it takes. I have had a lot over the years just to experience them.

i hate cl.... i find something for less than a 100 bucks, and then its to the garage to see if i can get it running. im surprised how some people give things away, and some think that their old motors are worth as much as a new 4 stroke. enjoy getting a old clunker running like a singer sewing machine.

Too many outboards? That would be like having too many guns or cars. I can't imagine the number. . . how about too much money??

I will die with more toys than money and I am enjoying that race!!! I have an extra OB right now so when I take out my small 14 footer I have a choice of motors 18 or 9.5 which both run great. You always have to have a spare!!

What a strange coincidence. After getting fogged out at the lake this morning I came home and decided it was time to clean out the shops. I started in the old shop and caught myself on more than one occassion saying.. I should keep these they're hard to find now. At some point I stopped and asked myself how many what's its and widgets does a person need.. Yeah, you guessed it, not much in the trash today but they're organized and now I'll never find them if I actually need them.

wonder what the fuel consumption per hour at wot. seems that u couldnt carry enough fuel for a more than a hour or two?
