Re: How much are you paying for gas?
Regular 87 octane here is between $1.80 and $1.95 here, depending which brand you choose. All this garbage gas here contains MTBE, which has poluted 1000's of private wells, which our Calipornia socialist government, says..."You can't drink your own water", "you better move, or we will take your kids away, because your poluted water source is endangering them."<br /><br /> We have 11 cars and trucks in our family of four. Over the last several years, I have been keeping track as to what MTBE has done to our gas mileage. On our fuel injected vehicles, we have lost 10% of our mileage and 20% with our vehicles that have carbs. MTBE is a by-product of the refining of gasoline, which formerly was treated as a hazardous waste. Some idiot politician was told MTBE should be added to our gas, becaue, "It will help to clean the air." Not to mention lining the pockets of politicions and the oil companies. An minium of 10% of MTBE is added to our gas, at a cost of 10 cents additional per gallon. Isn't it wonderful we get to pay extra to lower our gas mileage and get rid of the HAZ-MAT by-product for the oil ompanies, at our expense?<br /><br />
