Re: How much are you paying for gas?
I read an editorial the other day the suggested the patriotic thing to do would be to add a $1 per gallon gas tax to what we are currently paying.

Since we are effectively supporting the Saudis and others with the mass purchase of oil, this tax would have the effect of reducing the usage of oil, and reducing our dependence on foreign oil, and the revenue flow to our enemies. It would also expedite the development of other technology that would potentially further reduce this dependency on foreign oil.

None of the alternative energy sources are going to get any traction until they are economically feasible, and they won't ever be economically feasible while gas prices are so cheap.

Europe has been doing this for years.

I am not advocting this position, necessarily, but just relaying it. But as long as we have relatively cheap gas, and we do from a world wide perspective, at least, we will have to live with the dependence we have on foreign oil, and the money we spend on that foreign oil goes to fund all manner of things that may well not be in our best interests.

BTW, gas here in Northern Michigan is $1.65 for 87 regular.
