How much clearance for connecting rods with windage tray?

Long story short I have a 383 I am putting together to replace the original 1990 350 magnum in my boat.

The 350 magnum has a windage tray in the oil pan and I want to transfer it to the 383 because I'm assuming it is there for good purpose. I am using a Mercruiser 6.2 forged crankshaft in a 350 block bored 0.030 over.

Question is..

How much clearance do I need with the connecting rods to accommodate for defelction at full load and rpm?

Could I add washers under the tray so it sits a little lower?

Obviously I need to make clearance for where it's almost touching. In the picture where there is a small amount of clearance, is that enough?

Thanks in advance!

Also I usually don't "modify" things with a hammer, but I was thinking about it on this one. 😂
