Re: How much is your car payment?
Buy used and cheap, you can make a lot of repairs for $300 (approx) per month.

Three people get rich when you buy new...

1) the dealer (no explanation here

2) the finance company (interest)

3) the insurance company (premiums are higher on newer vehicles)

When you buy a new and expensive truck, you'll probably go 4-7 years for financing. After all those years of making $350-500 monthly payments so you can have a trouble-free "new" vehicle... it'll be time to start making serious repairs that will cost you $$$.

I honestly don't feel there is any benefit to buying a new vehicle... you may save repair costs in the first few years, but you've got the payment anyway so where is the savings????

We drove a used forest service truck ('77 dodge d100 with the slant 6 engine 4 speed shortbed puke green color) for many years because it did the job and was cheap.
