how much lower unit oil?

hi i have a 1989 johnson 60 horse. i want to change the lower unit oil. how much does it take? i have 2 tubes of amsoil will this be enough? thanks

Your motor will use 20-22 ounces of oil. (source:SELOC Johnson/evinrude outboards 1973-91 Repair manual. Under Capacities chart for engine size 60hp, years 1985 and on) I'm guessing the difference in how many ounces would be due to long or short shaft.

by 1 quart and fill with special pump till oil comes out of the top hole..

Shaft length doesn't matter, as the oil only fills the gear case, not the drive shaft housing!

My apologies, that was cross referenced with another manual which said 1981-1985 60hp uses 21.3 ounces, while a 1982 60hp long requires 25.4....my assumption came from this information...to be honest I never really look at how much the manual says, just buy a jug of it and pump it through the bottom 'til it comes out the top as stated by sparkieboat, just trying to give OP some sort of guide as to how much he may require, thats all.
