I found a left over 2008 Alumacraft 165 Navigator CS for sale. It has NO motor. It does include all rigging for BRP Evinrude engines. It comes with NO accessories but does come with a brand new galvanized trailer .. i forget the manufacturer. It's a nice trailer tho .. The dealer hasn't ordered a single new boat in 2 years since the economy crashed. I don't even see that the dealer is an Alumacraft dealer as per alumacrafts website anymore .. This boat is the ONLY NEW boat left in their showroom. They did mention the have some new boats on order.

They are asking $9,825.00. They claim that is dealer price and will not budge. I don't know about wether it is dealer price but i do know they will not budge as they have already sat on the boat for 2 years. They are not motivated enuf to LOOSE money on it.

I can get any motor i want and DO prefer the new Evinrude E'techs so i have NO problem with the BRP rigging.

Do you guys think this is a fair price for a 2008 left over? I took a good look at the boat. NOTHING wrong with it. They just won't loose money on it and it's in the northeast where the poor economy has hit hard.

By the way this is my first post and this will be my first boat. I will be fishing in upstate NY on the hudson and mohawk rivers. I plan on attaching a 2006 NEW left over 75 hp Etech 2 stroke to it once i buy it.

HELP please ! TY!

I was curious about the boat so I googled Alumacraft and found that very model is on sale for 12,595. It was a 2010 model, AND is included a trailer and 50 hp motor.

By the time you add the motor to your cost, you will be way over that figure, even if you opt for the 50 hp.

I'd print out the sale flyer and take it to the dealer. I don't believe the dealer cost BS - he's trying to make a profit. That's why its been there so long.

Jim, that is the Classic they are selling for 12600, the Navigator is a step up/larger.

Yep, price is a bit steep for a soon to be 3 year old boat.
Better off buying a new current model, unless you can convince them to let it go for $7500.

I would do a little shopping, find a dealer that has what you want in stock, and see what flashing some cash at them will do.

New current model, you might pay 14k for that boat and motor.

Thanks for the info . I will pass on this boat. The salesman/service desk guy made it clear that they won't budge.. It's not worth my time to try to haggle a few hundred bucks.

Thanks

I bought a 2004 Navigator 165cs brand new as a no pre-rig boat brand new in 2004 for $5700. That boat was also a better boat than the 2008 because the 08 has been cost reduced significantly. I installed my own engine (75 HP Merc triple). Excellent combination. In todays economy, that $9800 price tag is way too much.

Thanks Silvertip ..

However this boat does come prerigged with BRP new style remote, and all rigging as far as i can tell .. including no feed back ..

What do you think it should then go for as described ?

Alumacraft 165 Navigator CS - 2008

Alumacraft 165 Navigator CS: 2 Premium Pedestal Seats, Console w/No Feedback Steering, Aerated Livewell System, Bow Casting Platform, Galvanized Roller Trailer Included.

Here is the boat .. NO MOTOR.. they just threw that tiller on there for the picture ..

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

My boat also has all instrumentation as well as NFB steering. It also had an extra seat. The only difference between a pre-rig and no-pre rig is the lack of the control box and cables. The Tach was even included in the gauge package. Here in Minnesota that boat is packaged with a 50 HP Yamaha 2S very often for between $10K and $12K with $10,900 being a very common price.

Here is a 2007 fully loaded (used) for $10K (asking) and you know there is lots of wiggle room.

Or this 2010 new model fully decked out with PD55, charger, four seats, swing tongue trailer, spare, etc.
