Its a funny insult to the 470 which was a better engine than the stringer was an outdrive! Great job with the photochop! Looks great as my desktop background. 'nutcase

Actually, the 470 picture is of 82 and earlier 470's, including the 3" Heat exchanger. The 488 with the 4bbl didn't come out till the next year. I just had to "adjust" a few things to make it fit the picture. Also had to make my own exhaust riser. Merc made it so it went straight down, and it wouldn't line up with the OMC exhaust. The carb looks like the larger 4bbl carb because I screwed up and had to fix it some how because I did the layers wrong.
Just think, no one even noticed there was only half of the rear OMC motor mount showing.
I am now trying to figure out how to make the engine look as real as the outdrive, and with that picture, it's going to be almost impossible.

Well, after this winter I'll bet that come spring a lot of those guys with the "good" engines are gonna be cryin the blues posting questions like: "Why does the oil in my 4.3 look like a milkshake?", and "why is there water shootin out of the side of my 5.7?", while us foolish "470" owners are crusin our antifreeze filled blocks down the lake havin the last laugh.

Don, did Bond-o make it to you yet to pick it up? If not, I have a 1980s (I think, no title from seller) Bayliner that had an L Drive originally, that I'd love to put that in! It just has one or two soft spots in the floor, next to the engine, and the interior needs re-upholstered, but it's totally worth the $5000 I paid for it. It'll look even better after re-clearcoat it, cause it's peeling badly! Your AWESOME engine drive combo will fit perfectly after I rebuild the transom to accept it! please please please tell me Bond-o didn't already buy it?!
