Get onto the Oldmerc.com website, this is a website to buy old parts and manuals. You should be able to get the year built by their breakouts. If not email Mercury, this is what I did a year ago, you can get their email address off of their website. I emailed them, it took them 2 weeks to get back to me, however I have a 72' and they were able to nail down teh year made and where it was manufactured.
