Most of the construction sequence pictures are of 25' - 30' skiffs (which explains the 4 cyl Cummins), and were taken in the mid 1980's. The 47' sportfisherman "Glen Echo Too" was built in the mid 1970's, and built for a customer in Bermuda, as was this 42' sportfisherman "Neptune". Both boats (and a couple of dozen more of theirs) were built specifically for customers on Bermuda.

Amost all of their boats that went to Bermuda went there on their own bottoms, meaning that they put extra fuel tanks aboard and went around the tip of Sandy Hook N.J., headed S.E. by compass for 650 miles, and then about three days later when they were a hundred miles or so from Bermuda they picked it up on the RDF and headed for it. (No loran, GPS, or anything else like that). Just a routine trip for them.

Steam bending oak is really pretty easy to do. This is a piece of 1/2" x 1/2" white oak I bent for fun while bending some ribs for a boat I am re-ribbing & restoring now.

?Were the photos taken down, copyrighted? Doesn't look like the pix were from Photobucket & the links were broken because something there changed.....

Odd....

If the OP can get them re-posted, I'd enjoy looking thru them...

I think the 3 dots come from an later edit, maybe we were all deemed unworthy after a week or 2?

That's what made me think the pix may have been copyrighted, but there isn't an edit note from a mod... Odd....

No copywrite issues. It seemed this thread had run its course (guess there was still a bit of life in it.)

Do you like teak decks?

Thanks for putting the pics back, they are great. My first boating experiences were on a 24 foot backyard built cruiser one of my dad's shipmates built in the early sixties in Quonset Point RI. Your last pic above reminds me of that boat.
