Yea, I got that part. The first one I'm working on is laying flat in my trailer. I cant get the thing to budge. I'm worried about damaging the treads. Are there not any tricks?

Hanging on a hoist or laying flat on its back... the weight factor is non existent and the tube should slide out with very little effort.

Yours in all probability is frozen tight due to a corrosion factor within the transom brackets. If this is the case, use a hand held propane torch at those transom brackets at the steering/tilt tube point to expand the aluminum of the brackets to help free the tube.

my transom brackets arent even on at the moment, im powder coating them, the tube is solid in the steering rack, its free in the motor points.
