How to adjust idle on 97 150 oceanpro

Hi all,<br /> I'm wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the idle on a 150 hp ocean pro, 1997 vintage without the special Evinrude tool. I want to up the idle a couple 100 rpm from 600 to 800, but the manual talks about needing a special Evinrude tool to adjust the idle. If not I guwss I have to find out if the tool is worth the money.<br /> Thanks All,<br /> Don T

the air mixture screws are 3 turns out and for the rpm's turn the round turn knobs on the throttle cable at the motor

To adjust the idle speed, it takes a Pozi-Drive screwdriver (looks similar to a Phillips). To adjust the idle mixture, it takes a 9/64" allen wrench.

A simple method is to adjust the idle timing using the tooth and rack fine adjustment on the timer arm stop.
