I have a 19 Ft Grady White and have just recently gotten a mooring. The mooring was profesionally installed but the installer just left me the pendant coming off the mooring with no real way to hook it into the bow eye. A guy at west Marine told me just to thread line through the pendant and tie a snap hook The boat end of the pendant does not have a thimble. I also would like to know if I should have a back up line and not just one pendant.

Thanks

I don't have a mooring, but I prepared a line in case I'm vacationing somewhere I need to Moore at. I bought 2 heavy-duty snap hooks (zinced or galvanized) and some 5/8" nylon line. I made 2 lengths of line between the hooks, one slightly longer than the other so the longer can be a backup without being constantly stressed. The whole rig is about 6' long.

Can you attach to the chain just under the bouy since it doesn't have an eye on top?
