how to check timing on OIS ignition system

i would like to check the idle timing and full advanced timing on a 1992 v6 OIS system.
i dont have the omc analyzer.
is there a way to check it without the analizer?

None that I know of.

You can use a timing light, just don't shine it on the sensor eye.
