After confirming engine runs with direct 12v from battery to coil I believe I have bad connection in main harness area. Is there a semi easy way to clean this harness or confirm diagnosis?

Most likely you will find only one offending wire or connection

The quickest and easiest way is a visual inspection followed up by “buzzing” out the harness with an ohm meter.

Wires must be disconnected from their termination points to read properly.

Requires a schematic and or a working knowledge of the electrical system.

Start with the 12 volt supplies to the motor then go from there. Keep in mind that grounds are just as important as positive wires.

Hopefully you don’t run into the dreaded “black wire” disease

UPDATE:
Inspected harness with only minimal corrosion visualized, but decided it needed cleaned anyways.

Wrapped fine grip sand paper around really small drill bit with tape. Then stuck it down in female connections and ran it around all male connections. Then used knife blade to widen male prongs slightly.

Hooked it back up and engine now starts and everything appears to be getting power as should. Just wanted to post in case anybody needed an idea to clean.
