OK, I know I could pull the engine and remove the oil pan, But that would require alot of work and with all of you guys knowledge, lets see if you can come up with a solution that let's say, IS EASY for lazy people.
The engine is a 1974 mercruiser inline straight six, 165 h.p,
I won't bore you with a long story about how and why I think I need to do it,
but here's the short version, while on my way to go fishing, the engine temp guage rose to about 190 degrees and at the same time I lost all oil pressure and had to get towed in, since then I've run the engine several times for about 20 mins. and no problem, maybe there's debris in the pan which takes longer than 20 mins. to clog the oil pump screen, so how would clean the oil pan and pump screen without removing the engine??? huh???
please start with after draining the oil, ok ?
