The original title remains: How To: Editing the title of a thead.

So, technically, you are not changing/editing the title of the thread...uh...thead.

It appears the OP can change the title of the FIRST thread post through advanced editing, but all subsequent postings remain until changed by someone else through advance editing. In other words, I can change the thread title of the post I started and anyone can change the subsequent titles, but the original title can only be changed by me or the moderator. Sound correct?

Almost. More accurately:

There is a big difference in changing the title of the thread, and changing the title of an individual post or reply inside the thread.

This thread was started in order to figure out how to change the title of the thread on the main page. Who cares what the individual post in the thread are titled ??????
