Does anyone know how to find out how many units were produced of a particular boat. Mine was made by a small company called Arlington Special Editions no longer in existence. No mention on the net of this company other than on MIC database. Since it was made locally could TPW be any assistance?

Pretty tough to do. Some folks have luck contacting the owner of the closed company, starting with information from the MIC index. Otherwise, unless you can find some sort of fan club for that boat on the web, you'll probably be out of luck.

There have been so many small boatbuilders out there that close and disappear completely over the years. The 60s was especially bad about that, since everyone and his brother-in-law started chopping glass back then and putting together boats. Many had only regional or even local sales.

The place to start is in the area where the boats were made. Sometimes a local historical society can give you some information. In some cases, they even have the records of companies that used to be in their area.

It's a treasure hunt, with no map and no directions.

Good luck!

I appreciate it, that's what I feared. Probably not worth my time. Just read your replies on the Optimax.Good job. I Broke out the spreadsheet and tallied hours in the two months I've had my boat and all the money that has gone into it. At this point, (TTL)/hrs =$105 per hour. (TTL+parts and accessories) / hrs = $123 per hour. (TTL + Towing + Fuel + parts) / hrs = @#%&$$#$. It's going down fast though as in those 2 months I have used it 32 hours, and all the major issues have been addressed
