How to find out what year motor is and other info

Boat I purchased has a us marine force 85hp and I would like to know for sure what year it is and also other info like how many cycles and stuff like that? Where can i gind info?

These are numbers i have
model 856x96
serial 21487
Engine # 0C671309

Yeah I was not able to find anything either. I am having a hard time finding info on this motor and also on the boat. I looked up the boat serial number and it says that there should be a 50HP engine on the boat, the boat is a spectrum 1700 fish/ski, i am also confused about what is meant by the engine number. The engine cover says 85HP &the owners manual that came with the boat is for 85HP-125 and says us marine force/bruswick company. The boat was made by bluefin industries and they are not longer in business. I am wanting info on the motor so I will know how many cylces and info like that. If i go on a couple of sites for parts i have been able to find by 856x9G but these are only parts without information about motor.

Last digit in model number above is wrong, it should be a number. Probably a "b" or a "g".

Anyway, it is a 1989 model year.

It is a 2 cycle motor, and needs oil mixed with the gas.
2.6 ounces of tcw-3 oil per gallon of gas
or 16 ounces of tcw-3 oil per 6 gallons of gas.

What other info do you seek?

thanks, i did not know whether is was a g or 6 was hard to read. for right now that is all i need to know. i have had some confusion with the fact that the cover says us marine force, i thought this motor was made by chrysler for some reason and when i go to look at parts on the internet i have gotten a little confused on whether to go into force parts area chysler area.
