I have a 16' open bow speed boat with a 115 Hp outboard Johnson. I'm renting a house on a saltwater canal and it has a boat lift. I see some boats in the area, and some are hung by two attachpoints on the transom and one on the top of the bow. I have two small attach points on my transom but I don't know if they are for hanging the boat or for towing. Also, I have the ring in the front of my boat that I use for trailering, but I don't know it I can hang my boat from this? Should I just do the safe thing and buy two nylon slings or should I use those attachment points on my boat?

Buy quality slings. Those transom bolts & bow eyes are much stronger in tension than in shear & reininforced in the horizontal so they're for pulling or pulling onto a trailer.

Im sure the bow eye is heafty enough to lift the front..those tiedowns on the back..not so sure..

check all the backing plates for the bow eye and the stearn tiedowns.

One of the 3 points Might fail if they were not done right from the factory.

Slings are allways the best bet .. One at the transom and one just behind the curve of the keel bow..
