On the right hand side(starboard) there is an ID tag on the mounting bracket that attaches to the transom, look there and there should be a 7 digit number. It may even have a letter before the number. Give it a shot

I'm thinking it's late 60's / early 70's. Prolly a red stripe yes?

-W

Best I can guess is '68 to '71. The serial number outta be on a tag visible from inside the boat looking at the front of the transom clamp. It looks like a 15" motor that was extended to 20" with an adapter. That's good in that there are more used 20" lower units out there by far than 15".

-W

Survey says... 1969 model year. 1968 and 1969 were the only two years with the solid red stripe wrap, with white and red tracers. 1969 model years was the only one with the MERC 650 on the top cowling. There you go...
- Scott - Love them red stripes!
Owner of '69 Merc 40, '68 Merc 110, '68/'69 Merc 200 Frankinmotor, '69 Merc 350, and '69 Merc 500 (still in pieces but WILL run again!)
