Covering the cockpit, to protect them from UV and dirt, works better than anything else.

I use Turtle wax Ice interior cleaner. I like it because it isn't greasy. I think anything that says it is for cleaning and protecting vinyl will be fine especially if it says it protects from uv rays. I bought some cleaner from bass pro that says it is some kind of marine vinyl cleaner and it sucks. It smells bad and it is real greasy. It was also about 3 times the price of the turtle wax.

Warm soap and water with about 1/4 cup of bleach per gallon of water. Rinse with clean water. Dry thoroughly. Don't use abrasives like soft scrub or Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. It removes the protective layer on the vinyl and drying and cracking soon follow. Spot clean with Resolve of Clorox Clean-Up.

I use Tuff Stuff spray foam cleaner then protect it with Pledge furniture polish.I read somewhere it keeps suntan oils and lotions from turning vinyl yellow.I have white interior and it`s still white.Works for me.

Interesting. Try and keep the seats out of the direct sun.

Tuff stuff is pretty strong, be careful. Not sure what it'll do on white, but it turned my black vinyl gray. 3rdtimes got experience with it, so I'm not doubting him, I'm just sayin, try it in a test area a fewtimes first maybe.

Re: how to keep the vinyl new

My seats in my sig boat are off white and I just use a microfiber cloth, the newer the better and warm water. I'll put some Meguiars vinyl and rubber cleaner and protectant with sunscreen when they dry. The magic erasers are for spot cleaning of the worst spots like the wife's toe nail polish on the sun pad and no more. The work too well on the vinyl. Some of the non rubber/vinyl specific chemical cleaners don't work well with all boat surfaces. I like the Tough Stuff in the car but it is suprisingly strong and wouldn't put it near my boat that I keep many more years than my cars.

Re: how to keep the vinyl new

There is a vinyl treatment called Aerospace 303 that is AMAZING at rejuvinating chalking vinyl, and has what may be the highest UV protection of any consumer product. I use it on my boat, all our cars, and the top of the hot-tub. Best stuff I have found in over 40 years of using stuff like this....ArmorAll is nothing compared to this stuff! I get it my local West Marine....iBoats might carry it, as well as many auto parts stores...This will also UV protect your PFDs and Bimini tops, canvas, fabric, carpets and anything else that the sun degrades...

I used Tuff Stuff to get my brown vinyl back to proper white, and I maintain it with Mothers VLR (Vinyl Leather Rubber) spray cleaner. The Mothers stuff does a great job for regular cleaning and claims to offer UV protection, it's also not greasy. I also carry Mcguire's interior detailer wipes to quickly wipe up any spills or mud when I'm on the water.

Yep and I can tell you about the irreversable damage it can do to some boat surfaces. I don't mix marine and car products for the most part.

I like how you introduce 303 like it is a secret product. My Chaparral owners manual recommends 303 on the interior and it is certainly widely regarded.

I've had great luck with the 303 protectant. Use it on all the vinyl surfaces of all my vehicles as well as my boat. After every use I give the boat vinyl a quick wipe down with Babe's Seat Soap and about every 3 uses or so I'll follow up with the 303.
