how to loosen throttle tension on a 2008 yammy 150?

narrowed the throttle tension down to the 2 springs you see in the pic

any idea on how to lessen the spring tension on these? cables are smooth as are the plastic levers hook to them. these 2 springs are causing my throttle to be extremely tight at the control box. sorry for the big pic.

Doesn't your control box have an adjustment screw for throttle friction?

yes it does but the throttle friction is not coming from there. when cables are disconnected from engine the throttle controls move freely but once hooked back up the controls are very stiff. Like I mentioned, I have narrowed it down to these 2 springs as the culprits. any idea as to how to lesson the spring tension? the 2 screws in the pic don't do anything to help with the friction as near as I can tell.

The springs are not the problem, you need to keep looking .
They are not adjustable that I know about , so look for something binding up.
Cables would be my first thought if the controls are fine
Too many or too tight bends or just worn out

This change in tightness -- did it happen all at once, or was it gradual?

Is it tight in both directions, or just in one direction?

The springs are not the problem, you need to keep looking .

controls and cables are new (43hours old) motor has about 150 hrs on it. all cables,controls and the black levers on the motor are easily operated by finger. the throttle springs require alot more force to open and close. This is the 2nd boat that I have had this motor on with 2 different sets of controls and cables. throttle was sticky on both boats.
