How to measure shaft on motor

I need to know if the shaft on my motor is 15 or 20 inch. Do you include the lower unit portion or measure to where the lower unit begins?

Measure from the AV plate to the inside bottom of mounting bracket.

Measure from the inside top of mounting bracket down to anti-cavitation plate above propeller (this is the largest plate/fin directly above the prop)

But you may well find that the distance you measure will be an inch or so more than the quoted shaft lengths of 15" for standard shaft and 20" for longshaft.
This one is quoted as a 20" shaft but it measures nearly 22.5"

So on the picture that Vic has do I measure to the sharpened end of the pencil or non sharpened end?
