My new fishfinder doesnt like the 16+volts that my battery puts out when fully charged and running. What is the cheapest way to install a regulator on my electronics. Will a car regulator work? If so, can I instll it where the power wire goes into the fuse block? Any help would be appreciated.

HI<br />You can put a generic regulator on the output of the charging system, or you can regulate 16+ volts down to 14 with a 7812 regulator which your finder will accept. The easiest way is to simply drop the supply voltage to the finder by adding in 2 or 3 diodes in series with the power supply wire to the finder. This will drop the voltage to an acceptable level. If you need more guidance, just ask and I'll give you some part numbers... :)
