Reaching out to all my friendly boaters!

Hi I have a Zodiac Futura with a recessed valve (the inner valve with the green button). See photo.

How do I remove it without buying the removal tool from Zodiac (part number Z7057) as it is very expensive for a less than 1 minute job?

Please help. Thanks.

Welcome to Iboats,

Seems a Mission Impossible work, that's the down issue of having costly Zodiac inflatables along proprietary Zodiac tools.- How much would "very expensive" be ?

Ooouch price, the issue with that sort of air valve is that valve tool remover is totally incompatible with other air valves brands. A plastic tool fo Halkey Roberts type air valves only costs $ 5.00 and $ 10.00 for same alum one.-

If I see it correctly on the picture, there are just two plastic legs that hold the valve. If this is the case, then I would find a pipe with thicker wall with an appropriate diameter. With an angle grinder make a cut for the valve legs and you should be good...

Just googled it, ant instead of a pipe, they use a ratchet socket - 7/16 and cut it with a grinder I suppose. Here you go: Westport Marina on Lake Champlain ZODIAC Inflatable Valve Repair Instructions

by the way thank god you gave me that took. Sand got into my left valve and I couldn't close the valve. Going to remove it and use canned air to clean it

I am glad it came in handy, hopefully it works for that valve as I remember the pump valve I offered you was smaller (it may still fit though).

Thanks for those instructions. I used a pair of needled nose plyiers and a pair of forceps
