How to seal vent screw 4hp 1982 Rude

The exploded diagram at BRP does not show any kind of seal or o-ring on the vent screw.

The seal for the drain plug is too big to fit in the recessed area around the vent screw. How do you seal the vent screw to prevent water from contaminating the lower unit lube ?

Then it would be the wrong seal, go to a dealer with the drain plug and tell them what you have, they should be able to find you something.

The top vent shows 0336982 o-ring and the bottom is 0311598 o-ring. Did you order these to install?

Part number 0311598 is a flat nylon washer which will not work on the plug designed for an o-ring.

Just relooking at the diagram, there is no washer on the top vent screw, I don't know what I looked up in the first post

Ezeke has it. I knew the lower drain washer was not the correct part. Just wanted to verify that an o-ring went on the vent. Thanks, gents.
